The store’s origins can be traced back to 1970, when Anita Roddick visited "The Body Shop" housed in a car repairs garage in Berkeley selling naturally-scented soaps and lotions. Six years later, Roddick opened a similar shop in the UK, using the same business name and cosmetic lines. The Body Shop’s Lion Yard store has an extensive range of skin and hair products for both men and women. They also have a large selection of cosmetics and gift sets. Open from 9am - 6pm Monday to Saturday and till 8pm on Wednesdays, The Body Shop is vehemently against the testing on animals, and strives to source all products ethically.
